» let’s find out a little bit about C O L T ;
Colt has been flying solo all his life and it has never fazed him. Even from a young age, Colt has always been ambitious. The fact that he never knew his parents didn’t discourage him either. He grew up with the mindset that if he could work hard in life or at least make something of himself, he’d somehow show his parents what they’d been missing when they abandoned him. Lucky for Colt, he ended up living in a stable home that decided they wanted to keep him. He actually grew up in a decent family situation for someone thrown into the foster care system. His foster father is an avid baseball fan, and when he found out Colt could pitch, he was ecstatic. He spent tons of time on Colt, helping him hone in on his skill, hoping that in the future his hard work would pay off.
Colt absolutely loves baseball. He knows that it is his future and it is all Colt wants to do with his life. Well, that and having fun like every other adolescent. When he steps up on that mound, Colt feels completely at ease. He forgets all about the expectations he and others have for him and feels completely relaxed. It’s as if Colt is in a whole other world–one he can call all his own. It’s the one of the only things that causes the addictive adrenaline rush Colt constantly craves. Every time the ball hits the mitt rather than the bat, Colt feels a swell of pride in his chest. He imagines that somewhere, somehow, he’s making someone proud.
Colt may seem like a well-rounded kid, but when it comes down to it, he’s a adolescent boy who just wants to have immature fun. Colt truly has no problem being called a player; in fact, he welcomes the title. He views life as a game and hooking up with girls is just a part of the fun. There’s only one girl in Colt’s life that he deems worthy of being respected and it’s Lennox. When Lennox joined his foster family, he was a bit weary of the new, but beautiful girl. He then realized the two had more in common, and after getting Lennox to open up, Colt knew that when he planned to leave his foster home, Lennox had to come with him. And that, is exactly what happened. Now, Colt feels as if he has everything. He’s playing college baseball and he’s got his best friends by his side. There will always be a part of Colt that wishes he could find his parents and show them what they missed, but he pushes it aside. He’s convinced he has all the love he’ll ever need right here in Gulf Shores. The only thing left to do is to grow up, but Colt isn’t ready to think about that yet.
» what has C O L T been up to this past year, only time will tell ;
Colt Ashton Myers has shifted his focus from his friends to his career, which has played both positively and negatively in his favor. This year, he started to play professional ball and, boy, did he love it. The chewing tobacco, the constant soreness in his legs from sprinting, and the rough-housing with his teammates–his mind hardly floated to his friends back home. He made new friends in the Big Apple; he feels apprehensive about going back to his old ones. But, undeniably, his best friend bonds will Ethan and Xander will never fade despite where he moves. But, recently, Colt’s manager brought up a proposition, one that would involve an enormous lie and acting on his part. Colt scratched his head and his stubbly beard, saying, “I don’t remember signing up for an acting career now…” Regardless of this, Colt’s manager wants him to fake a shoulder injury–one he will claim that will end his career for good. But, instead, he will make a miraculous recovery, stunning the world. Every team will want him to play for them. And Colt has already started his charade, but everyone knows Colt Myers isn’t the brightest crayon in the box, so how long will he be able to keep his secret under the wraps from his friends?
» C O L T ’S connections ;
Lennox Anna Novak » the other half
Colt has a soft spot for Lennox and always will. Ever since they met, he somehow always knew they’d be inseparable. He hates that she feels like she can’t rely on him because he wants to be the one she comes to with all her problems. Colt feels as if he’s entitled to that much after what he’s done for the brunette. Colt still isn’t ready to let go of his player ways, but he’s convinced that when he is ready to grow up, he’s going to marry his best friend. Now, however, Colt’s at a crossroad. He and Lennox don’t talk as much as they used to and he knows it’s much more of a push away from Lennox’s end because he still considers them close. Colt isn’t too sure if he’s going to tell Lennox about his little charade, though. He doesn’t want to lose her and this might be one way he could.
Xander James Tariq » the wingman
Xander used to be one of Colt’s teammates and is still his best friend. He loves that he’s found someone to share in all his fun because Colt knows it’s impossible to have fun alone. He believes Xander and him have a great relationship going–they can talk about baseball, they can help each other get women, and can just smoke together. It’s easy to get along with Xander, but Colt doesn’t know what Xander’s keeping from him. it’s fair enough considering Colt isn’t planning on telling Xander about his charade either.
Clara Lena Ramirez » the chase
Last summer, Colt stupidly got caught and slapped with a DUI. In order to straighten him out, his coach sent him to do farm work at the Ramirez’s. At first, Colt was furious because he knew his coach sent him there to straighten him out, even though it placed Colt at the risk of losing conditioning time. The only reason Colt was willing to endure the hell he was about to enter was because he baseball is a major portion of his life. Colt went into this thinking there wouldn’t be any girls or fun, but to his surprise, Pastor Ramirez had a daughter, Clara. Last summer, Colt had made it his mission to get under Clara’s skin because after all, why not have a little fun while he was there? Of course, nothing truly happened, but now that Colt’s a big baseball star, he’s hoping this summer he can finally bag Clara. It might be harder to do then he anticipates, though.
Hayes Wesley Matthews » the mismade enemy
Colt and Hayes do not get along. Hayes isn’t daft and he knows that Colt has his eye on Clara for all the wrong reasons. Hayes isn’t about to let some baseball star walk in and break what’s already broken. He knows Clara still isn’t ready to have her heart toyed with and he looks after her like a sister. Colt hates how rudely Hayes treats him, and he thinks it’s because Hayes thinks he’s somehow better than Colt. Colt could care less–he’s had plenty of people think of him as trash due to his background. Now, though, he’s a star–things are different. Colt, however, isn’t about to be buddy buddy with Hayes.
Ethan John Wolfe » the roommate
Colt met Ethan through an ad. When he and Lennox first moved to Gulf Shores, Colt thought the apartment he bought would be affordable. As it turned out, Colt needed a roommate to split the cost and along strolled Ethan. Colt is lucky to have Ethan Wolfe as a roommate since he, Xander, and Ethan are as close as the three musketeers. Colt and Ethan get along well, but due to their close proximities of living, Colt was forced to tell Ethan. Well, he wasn’t forced. He never wanted to in fear of causing tension between his friend group, but his manager told him he had no choice but to let Ethan in on the plan. He feels guilty now that he’s caused some rift between Xander, Ethan, and himself. Colt just hopes Ethan won’t tell a soul–Colt needs this.
