» let’s find out a little bit about A N D R O M E D A ;
The island of Idyll can, no doubt, boast about the accomplishments of Andromeda Jane Kamara. But at first, no one knew the girl, to the town’s people they knew her as another girl with a big heart and even bigger dreams. And as the daughter of a former prostitute – an illegitimate daughter of one of her customers. Kanya, Andromeda’s mother, did, indeed, make her capitol from sex services – but she did not do so willingly. At a very young age, her parents sold Kanya to become a maid in the city, but this did not occur, instead the buyer trafficked her to a brothel. For many years, Kanya endured through this life, suffering from abuse from the brothel owners, forced abortions, and other gruesome tortures that victims of human trafficking suffer through. Before the brothel owner managed to rid Kanya of Andromeda, a group dedicated to helping trafficked girls, rescued her. After many years, Kanya fell in love with one of her rescuers, at first, she struggled with men touching her, but this man, this policeman proved to be different. They later brought Kia and Nyala into this world, Andromeda’s adoring sisters. One would think in a country so small, this much corruption would not occur, but, alas, it did and it does. But Andromeda would not stand for this abuse of women, she wanted to make a change in Idyll. So a change she did make. As a little girl, Andromeda loved to play doctor, dressing herself up in bed sheets, using twigs and leaves as her medical instruments. When she would accidentally prod one of her sisters with a stick, they would scream and promptly tell her, “You will never become a doctor!” but her mother would take her into her arms and tell her she could be anything she set her mind to. Growing up in a family of nearly all females taught her to embrace femininity – though she adores natural beauty, she cannot help but indulge in makeup, wearing a bit of mascara and lipstick every once in a while. Aside from this, she delights in lacy lingerie – her favorite object to purchase when she wishes to spoil herself. As well, on the whole, she picks pink as her favorite color, a further embrace of femininity in the eyes of the world. Her mother’s terrifying story inspired her to make a change, she wanted to help the women of this nation. So, she pursued an education in the medical field – studying abroad in England until she received her degree. She traveled back to Idyll and took over a run-down hospital to help women give birth, specifically with obstructed labor or who are anemic due to a lack of iron – she tries to better their situation, solve problems that could easily be solved in first world countries. She takes in girls from around Idyll and trains them in midwifery and nursing, the importance of protected sex. Frequently, she gives speeches to put an end to FGM – a topic she feels very strongly on as a small percentage of the girls in the nation suffer from this. All in all, Andromeda works toward bettering the situation for women in her country.
But who is Andromeda beneath her passion for health and wellness? A girl with heightened emotions – one might see her crying at the smallest sentiment, balling her eyes. A girl who carries a small bottle of hand santizer wherever she goes, in the middle of a conversation, she may just squeeze some out into her palm. Ask her about the history of sanitation and she will recite it from memory. A girl who loves people of all sexes and genders equally, a girl who identifies as pansexual. A girl who can tackle any situation with independence and grace, but needs love from others to fuel herself, a girl dependent on others’ love. A girl so full of love and adoration, love practically bursts from her seams! On that note, she insists she can find something to love in each and every person, which is exactly what she did with Kaleb. Many called the prodigal prince unlovable, but when Andromeda visited the palace to tend to one of his young siblings that had fallen ill, she found him rather enchanting. And through the looking glass he peered, Kaleb saw Andromeda, he knew he wanted her when he saw the way she smiled. Furthermore, Kaleb’s love fuels Andromeda, it brings a smile to her face as does the love from her parents and her sisters. Andromeda feels as though only love can make her joyful, so when she witnesses someone not spreading love (i.e. the cruel nature toward women in her country) it causes her great sadness.
» what has A N D R O M E D A been up to this past year, only time will tell ;
Two months into the new year, Kaleb proposes something — for himself, Raj, and Andromeda to all leave Idyll. Though they had only been lovers for a short while, Andromeda knows she would follow him wherever he ventures. Andromeda, at first, refused, she could not abandon her year-old hospital here. But after much thought, she realized she wanted to help people in more countries, learn about different remedies, different solutions… so she agreed. Her mother and sisters would man the hospital as well as the nurses she had trained. The day she left, she cried endlessly – her tears could have filled the entire ocean. But through this journey, she learned more knowledge than she could have ever possibly consumed on Idyll. Throughout the last six months, Andromeda has gained a plethora of adventures beneath her belt, a new love for everyone she conversed with in the many countries they stopped in. One person even commented on how frequently Andromeda uses her hands to accompany and enhance her speech, only furthering stapling the occupation of doctor to her name tag. Now, they wash ashore on Gulf’s beachfront, seeking a place to stay — how will this adventure fare?

Kaleb Madaki Attah » the joy
Andromeda finds a piece of everyone to fall in love with despite their faults and wrongdoings – she firmly believes that Kaleb deserves all the love in the world and she plans on giving it to him. At first, Andromeda heeded caution around Kaleb, not willing to fall in love’s trap so easily as she always does – but sooner or later, it snared her. After many long conversations with him while she tended to his youngest sibling, she witnessed a new side of the prince that the country did not see. After she healed his youngest sibling back to health, Kaleb implored that they should continue seeing one another – in his offsetting manner, of course. He wished for all the lovers in the world, so he wished for Andromeda. However, he did not expect for the two to enter in a binding relationship alongside with Raj. Kaleb is not the relationship type and continues to own that title, indulging in brief love affairs with locals in the towns they stop at. Andromeda does not know of Kaleb’s infidelities outside of their trio, it would break her heart to know. But she, herself, wants to give her love to more than just one man, she too struggles to commit to the title of girlfriend.
Lena Hsu Jong » the inexplicable
The first moment Lena laid eyes on Andromeda – one could take it straight from a soap opera. Lena’s pout mouth dropped into a perfect O and her eyes enlarged to the size of cakes – never before did she see someone so beautiful. She stole her breath away. Ever since that day, Lena pined from afar, her hands sometimes forgetting to grapple the sail lines as she looked at Andromeda. She wanted to melt into her bones – that kind of love. The way Andromeda took care of the women in the community, bettered their lives, her hands rough from a day’s work, why, she wanted those hands to touch her too. An ailment to her being, she thought this. But she feels as though she can hardly compete with Kaleb and Raj, the love of two, versus the love of one. Despite their travels together for the past six months, the nights they often spend talking into the wee hours of the morning – Andromeda always insisted on keeping Lena company while she manned the wheel, Lena still has yet to tell her how she feels. Once upon a time, when they consumed too much sake, a Japanese alcohol, Lena kissed the other girl on impulse, finding her too beautiful under the glow of the moonlight. Andromeda has yet to bring it up; Lena fears herself going soft – being unlike the sea – for the girl she cares too much for.
Raj Kaur Singh » the storge love
Because of Kaleb’s desire to have all the lovers in the world, Raj and Andromeda agreed to enter into a polygamous relationship; however, they would not touch one another. Raj does not enjoy the company of women in a sexual manner; Andromeda complied to his requests not to love him as she loves Kaleb. Though clearly envious of one another, insecure in their own singular relationship with Kaleb, they managed to forge a friendship – first, they bonded over their younger siblings, how they would do anything for them. Second, they formed ties over the value of hard work, not having life handed to you on a silver platter. Aside from that, Raj wants to appreciate Andromeda because she enamors two people he loves – Kaleb and Lena. One can find him playing matchmaker, attempting to lure Lena and Andromeda into spending more time alone. This makes Lena laugh, to say the least. One time, he shoved Lena a little too hard in the water toward Andromeda – they both toppled into the sea, spitting up water and shaking their heads toward Raj.
